These are a few of the 1/12th scale wax dolls created by Arlyn Coad. A model was sculpted in clay then cast in dental plaster. A special blend of waxes was poured into the mold and when hardened, the figure was removed and carefully refined to bring out fine details. Each hair was individually embedded into the scalp. The clothes were hand-sewn using carefully selected fabrics to maintain scale.
